I found a village here, love, guidance and skills I can pass down for generations! I had to start from scratch and leave everything I ever knew. Surprised to find out I was pregnant… what should have been a happy and exciting moment, instead felt lost, afraid, anxious and alone and unsure how I would provide for her while navigating this world. I found the Hope program from a sheet the hospital gave me in search of resources. I knew from my very first appointment I wasn’t alone. I was safe and I CAN DO THIS. My anxiety had eased and I could breathe and focus on the health of me and my unborn baby. I will forever be grateful to these women who helped nurture me and guide me into being the best mother I can be. I am also very thankful to everyone who donated and volunteers to Hope. My husband lost his job at the time and we were lost on what to do. Y’all also helped me with clothes for the kids, diapers and formula, and that was such a big help for a mama of 3 very young kids so close in age. The lessons you guys provide helped me learn how to be a better mother. Especially when I just needed to talk, you just listened. I definitely needed that at the time when my husband was on third shift. I was juggling it all by myself. It felt so good to have someone sit there and listen to what you’re going through. You all have also been such a big blessing to call friends. I love that we can just pick up where we left off even if we haven’t seen each other in forever! The videos helped me learn about a C-section so I was prepared when I had to have an emergency C-section. I stopped working due to being high risk and Hope Center was there when I needed clothes, diapers, etc. Hope Center is just a great place with wonderful people. I love when the ladies pray for my family and I. I pray this place continues to grow because they are truly a help to moms and dads in this community. ##### Former Client ![Group 14559](https://impactpontiachope.org/hubfs/Group%2014559.svg) As a recently graduated participant of classes at the Hope Center, I can only say that my experience with the staff there has been a beneficial and positive one. The courses I took were short, well organized, comprehensive sessions that covered what I needed to meet requirements prescribed for me concerning my family situation by the Center for Youth and Family Solutions, a subsidiary of DCFS. I took a parenting skills class led by Ashley, a fatherhood class led by her husband Rico, and a class dealing with parenting gender dysphoric youth, also led by Ashley. Not only were these courses offered to me without charge, but I was able to take the credentials given to me for completing them and present them in juvenile court, bringing me that much closer to obtaining my objectives as the father of my four minor children who are currently in foster care.
